The Bible says 10% - Let's Look at 10% Differently!

The 10% Rule:

Taking time for yourself is often overlooked, but it's essential for your well-being. Some people may spend 30-45 minutes at the gym or engaging in other self-care activities... and then pat themself on the back.

That is not not enough! To truly make a difference in your life, you need to dedicate 10% of your day to self-care. That’s about 2.4 hours each day. It might sound like a lot, but trust me, you are worth it!

The Challenge: Carve Out 10% of Your Day

I want to challenge you to carve out 10% of your day just for yourself. Imagine what you could accomplish in that time: reading, exercising, setting goals, planning, meditating, or pursuing a hobby. These activities will help you walk into each day mentally and physically prepared.

In a short time, you’ll notice significant changes. You’ll start to feel like the person who is thriving in every aspect of life—whether it’s family, fitness, health, peace, hope, finances, or passions.

Why 2.4 Hours?

At first, dedicating 2.4 hours to yourself might seem daunting.

But think about the benefits. Taking this time is not selfish; it’s essential. When you invest in yourself, you’re not only improving your own life, but you’re also enhancing the lives of those around you. Your family, friends, and colleagues will notice the positive changes in you. You'll have more energy, better focus, and a greater sense of well-being, which will overflow into your relationships and work.

The Benefits of Investing in Yourself

When you dedicate 10% of your day to self-care, you’re setting yourself up for success in every area of your life. Here are some ways you can use this time effectively:

  1. Reading: Expand your knowledge and stimulate your mind.
  2. Exercising: Improve your physical health and boost your energy levels.
  3. Setting Goals: Plan and visualize your future, making concrete steps towards your dreams.
  4. Meditating: Reduce stress and enhance your mental clarity.
  5. Pursuing Hobbies: Engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment.

How to Start

Begin by assessing your daily schedule and identifying pockets of time that you can reclaim for yourself. Maybe it’s waking up an hour earlier or cutting down on screen time. Start small if necessary—perhaps 30 minutes here and there—and gradually build up to the full 2.4 hours.

The Impact on Your Life

In a short time, you’ll start to see significant changes. You’ll feel more balanced and in control. Your relationships will improve as you become more present and engaged. Your work will benefit from your increased focus and creativity. Your overall health will improve as you incorporate regular physical activity and stress-relieving practices into your routine.

You Deserve This Time

You deserve to invest 10% of your time in yourself every day (don't let me tell you what that looks like in a lifetime). It’s not just about personal gain; it’s about creating a ripple effect of positivity that touches every part of your life. When you take care of yourself, you have more to give to others. You’ll find that by prioritizing your well-being, you’re better equipped to handle life’s challenges and more capable of supporting those around you.

Conclusion

Take the challenge! Dedicate 10% of your day to yourself. It might feel like a lot at first, but the benefits will far exceed your expectations. You’ll become a better version of yourself, ready to tackle each day with renewed energy and purpose. Remember, you are worth it! Start today, and watch how your life transforms in ways you never imagined.
